This Weeks Top Movie Release: Transformers Dark Of The Moon

Saturday 2 July 2011

My regular readers will remember that I had the trailer for this movie on here months ago now and everyone was pretty excited about the movie then.  As always the movie rated as best here last week, well second best actually has taken the most at the box office this week with over £2m in sales, I'm of course referring to Green Lantern.

Starring this time.  Shia LeBouf is back for his role as Samuel Witwikey, unfortunately though no place for Megan Fox as his girlfriend she is replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley a British actress and model, and in my opinion a lot fresher faced than Megan Fox.  Also back is Tyrese Gibson and Josh Duhamel for their roles in the U.S Air Force.  And finally John Malkovich takes a small part alongside Patrick Dempsey.

This installment of the movie takes us on a little history lesson first of all, as president John F. Kennedy charters a space mission Apollo 11 to the moon in 1969, this is a cover to put a man on the moon to investigate the Ark, a spacecraft that crash landed on the moon in 1961.  The Cybertoranian craft was piloted by Sentinel Prime and was carrying "The Pillars", which was the technology that could save the Cybertoranians.

In the mean time back in the present day the Autobots are working hand in hand with the U.S Government, they are on a mission in Chernobyl when Optimus Prime discovers a fuel cell from the Ark which the Ukrainians had been using as a power source causing the Chernobyl disaster.  On making the discovery Optimus awakens this movies bad guy Shockwave and now it is an all out race between the Autobots and Decepticons as to who will reach the Ark.
