Cee Lo Green Live Review

Tuesday, 10 May 2011

This is sort of another request from my regular commenter Ruben, since his last suggestion to review the Black Eyed Peas live at the Super Bowl proved to be so fruitful viewing wise.  I thought I should get on with this one straight away.  Well as near as anyway.  This is the post that should have published whilst I was on holiday, so it's a little late but never mind here it is now, enjoy.

As you have probably guessed by the title the review is in relation to Cee Lo Green or Gnarles Barkley, or maybe you know him by his real name?  Thomas DeCarlo Callaway.  I did not have to wait long for the review, as Cee Lo appeared on Later Live With Jools Holland here in the UK a couple of weeks back.

Cee Lo as he likes to be known is a record producer, singer songwriter and rapper who started his career with Goodie Mob, no I hadn't heard of them either!  We all know him mainly as 1 part of double act Gnarles Barkley a group he created with his DJ/producer friend Danger Mouse.  The guys had a lot of success and released their first single "Crazy" which reached number 1 in both the US and UK, as well as various other countries.  They put out their first album which was well received and went to work on the second, unfortunately that did not match the first ones success.

Cee Lo decided it was time to go it alone, he released quite a lot of music through Arista which did not meet a wide audience before meeting and working with Producer Timbaland.  He released a single with the producer which was well received when performed on the Chappelle show.  Then came the big break when Cee Lo was due to release single Fuck You on 19th August 2010, the record was partially leaked on YouTube in the April and became a massive hit both prior and after it's release.  From there the music has gone up and up in popularity and Cee Lo Green is now highly regarded as one of the best Motown artists in the world.  That brings us to now and the release of his latest single Bright Lights Bigger City, check the video below.

Cee Lo then popped over to the UK to perform the song on Later Live with Jools Holland, a performance that I had to watch twice to fully appreciate.  You may remember that we talked about the new single here a while ago on our weekly music post and I love it, so to the live version.

For a Rap, Hip Hop and R&B song I was expecting most of the music to be electrical (not guitars) pre recorded, and was not sure as to weather he would sing live as some rappers and R&B artists sound terrible when they do so, check out the video below and let me know what you think.

I was wrong, the performance was brilliant with two guitarists who gave the song a exciting twist and very different sound, still allowing you to recognise the music instantly.  Cee Lo sang live and apart from the one moment when he mistimed his return to the microphone his voice came over brilliantly, his energy was excellent and for me hi is one of the few R&B artists I would go and see live if I got the chance.

Must Have Songs For Your iPod - Week 10

Sunday, 8 May 2011

Back again for another week of must have music for your iPod and MP3 player, guess what no Chris Brown this week my regular commenter's will be pleased to hear.  I do have a couple of new records this week though, and they have gone down a storm in other countries and are from relatively new artists.

First up this week its Alexandra Stan, the Italian beauty is releasing her first single here in the UK named Mr Saxobank, the tune has been a huge success right through Europe getting into six top ten positions, no doubt it will be popular here to.  The song has that kind of holiday vibe to, it will probably be a smash in clubs this summer.

Frankmusic is back, and I figure I might as well stay with the holiday theme for the next track.  He has teamed up with group Far East Movement and the result is Do it in the AM, a very up beat enjoyable song which again will no doubt prove a big hit in holiday destinations this year.

Also this week a track from Aloe Blacc, an American folk, jazz, hip hop and R&B singer songwriter, who is by no means new to the business he has been on the go since 1995.  It just so happens that not much of his music if any has gone main stream.  His new tune I Need A Dollar is my song of the week and is turned up to the max when it comes on the radio, check out the video below.

So that's it for the music this week, once again thanks for dropping by hope you enjoyed the latest.  Remember leave your comments below I respond to the all, remember also to subscribe to and follow the blog. Maybe you got some ideas for me then send them to the new Email address moviesmusicandtelevision(@)gmail(DOT)com

Now that you are here why not go and check out today's earlier posting about Britain's Got Talent and the auditions from week 4 of the show.

Britain's Got Talent Episode 4 Auditions

I’m getting there and finally managing to catch up with comments left here and commitments I have else where.  Not to worry though still plenty time to catch up with the weekly dose of Britain’s Got Talent.

As always I’ll guide you through the good the bad and the ugly from this week and invite you to leave your comments in the section below as always.

Again this week the theme was more in keeping with good acts, apposed to the usual delusional people who think or have been miss informed of a talent they may have.

First up this week another snake, luckily not a reticulated Python as Anthony Mcpartlin would be pleased with as it ended up wrapped around his neck, this act was Girls Roc.  Now they certainly could rock and I found them quite entertaining, and no not just because they where wearing bathing suites, all though I will admit it did help.  They are not the best dancers in the competition that’s for sure but it’s all good fun.

Now from not so good dancers to an awesome dancer Michael Moral flew over to Britain from the south of France, saying that he watches the show on YouTube every week and really wanted to audition, straight off you are thinking well he is going to be good or he would not have come all that way.  Turns out he was awesome and probably one of the best dancers ever to come on the show.

From dancers to an artist Nathan Wyburn is 21 years old and currently studying at Cardiff University, he does art with everyday household objects and done an impression of judge Michael McIntyre with toast and Marmite, it’s not really my thing and to be honest not all that entertaining but the end result was pretty good.

Last but certainly not least this week is Robert Fulford a 42 year old Welsh Guy who is currently unemployed, not really dressing for the occasion and looking like he had just rolled up from the local social club on some kind of bet with his friends.  Robert audition was singing, I have no idea what he was singing and have yet to decide weather it’s serious or he is winding everyone up, see what you think and let me know in the comments.

So that's it for another week, with all the latest from the biggest TV show in England right now, don't forget to subscribe or FOLLOW the blog, leave your comments below I respond to them all.  Check Back later tonight  for the weekly music posting also.

If you liked this then why not check out Britain's Got Talent auditions weeks one, two and three here also.

New Cinema Releases: 06th May 2001

Friday, 6 May 2011

I'm back and fully refreshed from my holidays, yeah I know it's only been like a week but typical for me I get new commenter's and subscribers to the blog, and probably more visitors than I'm used to.  Not to worry I'm back like I say and all though I'm still in holiday mode I will get something out.

First off thanks to Ruben as always for keeping the blog alive with his comments while I've been away and also thanks to La Redac Chef Du Wall, she is from France and jumped back over this way for the weekly music post and is the latest subscriber to the blog, check hers out to it's awesome Eat & Drink Music, or her newer blog Le Wall.

I have to thank you guys and girls for your comments, I will get round to replying to them and will visit your blogs to leave comments, thanks again and enjoy the post.

I did have two posts scheduled to publish through the week when I have been away, for some reason or another they have not published, I need to look into that.  On the bright side I will keep them for this week.  So that is enough rambling and time to mention the new movies out this week.  It is not going to be comprehensive at all, like I say I'm still in holiday mode.

Hanna

Starring: Saorise Ronan, Cate Blanchett and Eric Bana

The story of a 16 year old girl who is raised by her father to be the perfect assassin, she is sent across Europe on a mission by her father but is pursued by an intelligence agent and her other operatives.

Water For Elephants

Starring: Robert Pattinson, Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz

This is very lazy of me, and I have to be honest I have just looked at IMDB to get this brief summary.  In short then Robert Pattinson plays a Vet who's parents are killed.  He joins a travelling Circus and falls in love with Reese Witherspoon.  That's it.

Thanks for dropping by and you support as always, I promise the Britain's Got Talent post will be a lot better and more informative on Sunday morning.  I'm not going to bang on about the RSS but if you are not a subscriber then why not?  Get on it.  Thanks again and see you Sunday morning.

Must Have Songs For Your iPod - Week 9

Sunday, 1 May 2011

Back again this week with everything new and old that you should be adding to you iPod or MP3 player, hope you enjoyed the Britain's Got Talent post earlier in the day.  As it's bank holiday weekend (again) not that I'm complaining I will try to make this an up beat cool week, then you can get out into the garden with your BBQ and some great new tunes.
Ok we mentioned this guy a couple of weeks back Chris Brown was on my hit with his song "Yeah 3x", well he is back again this week with his new song featuring Benny Benassi Beautiful People is more of a dance track and just the one to start you off in style this bank holiday.

Calvin Harris is another DJ who seems to have discovered the benefits of mixing great beats with Hip Hop and R&B stars, on his latest track Bounce he has teamed up with Kelis, it's a bit slow to start but will be a big one in the clubs this summer.

They all seem to be into this mix of hip hop and dance at the minute, this is the first one of these posts I've done where I wish I was back as a nightclub DJ, the fun I could have mixing up this madness to the coupe thousand or so that used to get in haaaa.  Take a listen to this new song from Example it's called Changed The Way You Kissed Me.

That's it from me for another week with the music, don't forget I'm off on holiday from tomorrow I need your guest post to be published here, do one and send it to me by midnight tonight at musicgamingvideo(@)gmail(DOT)com.  Don't make me beg anymore I'll accept any guest post in relation to movies, music or television so get thinking and get it forwarded by tonight.  And do I have to tell you again FOLLOW me please, leave your comments below and subscribe to the RSS.  That's all catch ya next week.

Britain's Got Talent Episode 3 Auditions

Another great week of auditions and Britain's got talent may have just unearthed another Megastar.  There were no people who were deluded maybe a few who appeared for a bet and some others who went through and maybe should not have, either way they will be found out in the next round I'm sure.

The Hoff was off on a prior engagement so step in Louis Walsh, the music manager who head up the judging panel on UK X Factor.  Last night he just did not get it.

First to this kid Ronan Parke, the megastar I just mentioned above. I did not know what I was expecting, he was the final act of the day and he took the roof off the London theatre they were auditioning in.  He stepped up and sang the powerful Nina Simone song Feeling Good.  Ronan now find himself as the favourite to win this year and is sure to have a big career in music....Oh yeah for the teenage girls he looks a little like Justin Biber, hey maybe Usher will beat Simon Cowell to his signature.

Next up it's Olivia Binfield now this kid is 7 years old and came on saying she was going to do a poem, I thought ok maybe she is going to do it as some sort of dramatic reading like a theatre show or something, she kicks off by going off stage and bringing her pet reticulated Python onto the stage wrapped around her neck and gives us a beautiful poem about the endangered animals in the world.  Awaiting the judges comments was a bit ropey though as the Python seemed to be tightening it's grip.

Now a boy band with a bit of a twist.  Out Of The Blue is a collection of students from Oxford University, now I have to be honest I saw them in the pre performance interview and thought bunch of geeks, turns out they were pretty awesome geeks and were my second favourite act of the night.

Now last but not least is Tracy Moran, this lady come across a little crazy at first, she is a dancer...well I say dancer she could move a little but probably should not have gone to the second round.  Her dancing reminded me of a bar over here in Newcastle called Flares it's a 60's and 70's disco bar and can be pretty fun when you are drunk, not that I ever dance.  The funniest thing about the act was her attempt at the splits it took her a while to get up, and the pulling up of her pants constantly was hilarious, not sure if it was part of the act or weather they just kept falling down.

So that's it for another week, remember I'm off on holiday tomorrow.  I need your guest post's in by midnight tonight, I'm begging now....There are two post's already to be published next week one on Cee Lo Green and the other a Upcoming movie trailer of Cowboys & Aliens.  I need another post to publish on Wednesday so get it typed and Email it to me musicgamingvideo(@)gmail(DOT)com.

Like the Britain's got talent posts then why not check out week one and week two here, and don't forget to FOLLOW me or subscribe to the RSS to have all the latest delivered straight to your inbox.

New Cinema Releases: 29th April 2011

Friday, 29 April 2011

If there is anyone out there this Friday who is not taking in the viewing of the Royal Wedding, then the only other option you have is to watch a DVD or even better visit your local cinema and see what on at the flicks, luckily I do all that right here for you, keeping you fully up to date with anything and everything Worth going to see at the movies this weekend.

Now I'm no going to dress it up to much, this week is not the best.  I suppose the people who schedule movie releases thought that the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton made play havoc with the opening weekend of big movies, never the less let's get on and see what out there for ya this weekend.

Thor

Sattring: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston and Anthony Hopkins

I'm not the biggest fan, in fact I'm not even a fan of this type of movie the title and look at the poster is enough to put me off, needless to say I won't be going to see this one.

It may be your thing though so it's here, the movie is a adventure, action and drama type thing where this warrior from a realm called Asgard comes's to Earth to live among Humans, soon becoming one of our main protectors.

That's pretty much all I know, and to be honest I probably won't find out much more.  I did skim past a review of the movie earlier in the day, they gave it a pretty good write up so maybe you could give it a go.

Tracker

Starring: Ray Winstone, Temuera Morrison and Andy Anderson

Yeah don't worry I have only heard of Ray Winstone to, I had not even heard about this movie until I came to do this post.  So pretty much like Thor there is not to much I can tell you, like I said it's not the best week for movies.

Ray Winstone plays an ex-Boer war gorilla in New Zealand, he is sent to bring back a Maori accused of killing a British soldier.  The popularity of this has really shot up on IMDB, again though I don't think I will be rushing out to see this one.

That is pretty much it for this week, yeah I know it's a lazy post and I'm going to bang the same drum that there is nothing really worth going to see this weekend.  If you are into Horror movies then you could go see Insidious, won't be me though don't do Horror movies.

Right then thanks for dropping by for the latest cinema releases posting I'm off to watch the Royal Wedding now.  Don't forget you have your chance to guest post here on the blog for me, I need the entries by Sunday night I'll give you till midnight British time your post will be scheduled for Wednesday next week when I'm away on holiday.

Now you are getting on with the post you want published here, remember to FOLLOW me, leave your comments below and subscribe to the feed for all the latest delivered straight to your inbox.

Terminator 5

Thursday, 28 April 2011

So we all know that Arnold Schwarzenegger is returning to acting, and he apparently has movie offers coming out of his ears.  As regular commenter Ruben told us in comments on a previous post Ah-Nuld is a lot better at acting than he is at politics.

Terminator 5, as it's named at the moment is currently sitting shelved away in some studio and is awaiting the rights to be bought, the leading studios in the hunt for the movie are Lionsgate, Sony and Universal.  The only thing halting the process at this time is the $25 million or so up front price tag with the total amounting to $36 million.

Who ever gets the rights is also going to be in need of a writer, as the movie is yet to scripted, there is a thought!  Why not get Sylvester Stallone to write it.  For me he has done a pretty good job of his latest remakes Rocky Balboa and Rambo in particular, just a thought.

If the movie is snapped up ten it would hopefully see Schwarzenegger take up his Terminator role one more, at least in some capacity anyway.  I hope the movie does get made all though I have no idea what the story would be, any ideas?  The original Terminator and T2 have got to be the best in the franchise by a long way any one will admit to that.  Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines was enjoyable but not something you would watch time and time again, then you have Terminator Salvation which admittedly I have not seen, but the reviews I have read are not really that great.  Maybe if they make the 5th movie I will get round to seeing it.

Thanks for dropping by don't forget to leave your comments in the section below, FOLLOW me or subscribe to the feed.

Want a laugh then why not check out my post on the Royal Wedding, maybe you want something to do with movies then take a look at Johnny English Reborn.

The Royal Wedding

Wednesday, 27 April 2011

Now this would not be much of a blog on Television if I didn't mention the event that is taking place on Friday morning at Westminster Abbey between Prince William and his fiance Kate Middleton.

Millions if not billions will be watching around the world as the happy couple tie the knot.  I will watch it of course.  Now as with anything high profile these days it's not to long before you find a video about it on YouTube and the Royal Wedding is no different.

T-Mobile is one of the biggest phone companies here in the UK I'm not sure where else they operate but I do know they are in Germany, thanks to a friend who lives there and they sponsor a German football team, I can't remember which and in all honestly it does not have anything to do with what I'm talking about here.

T-Mobile are getting a bit of a good reputation for themselves lately thanks to the TV adverts the put out with their company slogan "life is for sharing", and we all remember the one with the guy singing in the translation right?

Now they have gone one better and done an advert for the Royal Wedding with some actors that are pretty impressive look alike for certain members of the royal family, the video is a million miles from what the ceremony will be like on the day but it is very entertaining and has had 12.5 million views on YouTube. I'm sure you will laugh and LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS BELOW.

Thanks for dropping by and don't forget I'm away on holiday next week and I need some one to do me a guest post, I've had no offers yet so drop me a line at musicgamingvideo(@)gmail(DOT)com with your post and I'll schedule it to publish it here next week.

In the mean time why not check out what new at cinemas this week, or take a look at a funny up coming movie trailer Johnny English Reborn.

Must Have Songs For Your iPod - Week 8

Monday, 25 April 2011

AARGH yeah it's that time of the week again for my favourite music post, since I'm bit late getting this out this week, being the holiday weekend and a very sunny one at that I spent most of Sunday in my Garden having a beer of course.  As far as new music goes there is not much out this worth listening to but I'll roll with the punches.

No that's not me!
First up this week Professor Green, now I don't know to much about his music and after this song I'm not likely to find that much out.  I was introduced to his new single Jungle by someone at work, yeah it's ok and I could probably listen to it in my car but maybe not on repeat, I don't think the Professor does that much singing.

I though we could have a preview of the post I have scheduled for next week when I'm on holiday, we all know who Cee Lo Green is and we reported on his new song Bright Lights Bigger City a couple of weeks back, the post scheduled for next week is a review of that song which he done live on the Later Live with Jools Holland show here in the UK.  Now though his previous song It's Ok.

I thought I would bring a bit of old skool hip hop in now with Joe Budden Pump It Up.  Finishing on a high this week.

Ok so there you have it for another week, please please leave some comments FOLLOW me or subscribe to the feed, I always respond to comments.

If you liked this then why not check out last weeks must have songs, or take a look at the Black Eyed Peas at The Super Bowl.

Britans Got Talent Episode 2 Auditions

Sunday, 24 April 2011

So we are back again this week taking in all the weird and wonderful as Britain's Got Talent rolls into Birmingham, Glasgow and London.  The first week we did not get to many crack pots, and I am happy to report that this week was largely the same apart from one lady who wants to be a stand up comedian.  Other than that we had a great impressionist and a dog that can "sing" opera, the biggest laugh of the night would come from the Hoff who found the accent's a little difficult to pick up.

Let's start with the good, now turns up Neo from the Matrix now lives in Manchester and he decided to show up at this years auditions to show us that he is in fact the one, now you are sitting thinking this guy is either going to be awesome or complete rubbish turning up dressed like he's about to take on an agent of the system.  Razy Gogonea then ran onto the stage with he knees and showed he the whole of the UK a great lesson in beat popping, at least I think that's what they call it, never been one for dancing I've got two left feet.

Like I say there where a few good one on the show last night, and like anyone I like a good impressionist, this guy Les Gibson shows up on the auditions and good for him he has been working as a professional impressionist for years now and for me he is one of those guys ho just did not get the break he needed, maybe this will be it.  For my American readers they wont know who Kevin Webster or Ross Kemp are so click their names to find out.

Now for the bad, this lady is currently in college training to be a cook, turns out in her spare time she fancies herself as a bit of a comedienne.  Now as you know to be a comedian especially a stand up you need a personality and the ability to deliver a joke without labouring the point to much, so if that has inspired you then check out Elaine Williams from last nights auditions, oh yeah one thing I forgot to mention don't tell the audience to "F**K OF".

The ugly this week comes from Micky Gooch, now his act was not bad.  Ok it's not that entertaining but I think if Bruce Lee had been on the judging panel he may well have gone through to the next round, check out the video below and let me know what you think.

I of course don't have time to go through them all, but like I mentioned above this weeks show did showcase a opera singing dog, and also a guy who put a great spin on a nursery rhyme in the form of Snow Patrol.  Check them out via the links

If you liked this then why not check out my week 1 auditions post, or if you are in the mood for something a little more sensible then check out whats new in the cinemas this week.

*DON'T FORGET YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO GUEST POST HERE NEXT WEEK FOLLOW THE LINK AND SEND IN YOUR POST.*

Don't forget PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE FOLLOW me here on Blogger (I'm trying not to beg), subscribe to the RRS and have the latest post delivered to your inbox every week, as always thanks for dropping by and don't forget check back later for this weeks must have songs for your iPod post.

New Cinema Releases: 21st April 2011

Friday, 22 April 2011

Another great week of movies here for you now, once again the movie we mentioned last week Scream 4 was the number one  at the UK box office.  No doubt this week will be no different, so let's get on the biggest movie release this week,

Fast Five

Starring: Paul Walker, Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson

Diesel is back as Dominic Torreto, with him and his crew of street racers finding themselves on the wrong side of the law again.  The movie is set in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.  Brian O'Connor (Walker) and Mia Toretto have just broken Dom out of jail and are now on the run from Luke Hobbs (Johnson) the Federal agent assigned to track them down.  Unfortunately Hobbs is not the only one on the trail of the elite street racers and they are forced to confront a ruthless drug lord who wants them dead.

This movie looks a real good edition to the Fast & Furious franchise, I enjoyed the first and second movies but admittedly I have not seen the other two, thinking they did not look all that good.  This one has now been added to my watch list.

Also opening this week according to IMDB and the official website is another movie we mentioned here a while ago.

Apollo 18

Now there really is not that much info out regarding this movie, I know it's not due out in the USA until January next year, so can't figure out why it is released here now.

Never mind, the movie is about a cancelled Apollo space mission from back in the 70's, it does look good but maybe a bit on the scary side for me, I'm not one for horror movies.  See what you think check out the trailer below, I have watched it and to be honest that's enough for me.

The movie tag line is There's a reason we've never gone back to the Moon.

Arthur

Starring: Russell Brand, Helen Mirren and Jennifer Garner

A movie remake now sees Russell Brand playing the part of Arthur which starred Dudley Moore back in 1981.

Arthur is a wealthy playboy who has Hobson (Mirren) as his butler.  Arthur stands to loose his hefty inheritance from his parents due o the fact they do not like the woman he has fallen for.

Now I like Russell Brand he's quite a cool funny guy, I saw him interviewed last weekend on Piers Morgan about this movie and saw the trailer, I don't think I will be going to see this one.

So that's your latest movie release for another week , remember FOLLOW me or subscribe to the RSS or via Email they are on the right bar, and you will get all the latest posts delivered straight to your inbox.

In the mean time remember I'm looking for someone to do a guest post over here, maybe you have seen or are going to see one of the movies above.  You could do a review and send it to me musicgamingvideo(@)gmail(DOT)com, you have until 1st May to get in your posts.

Your Chance To Guest Post On My Blog

Thursday, 21 April 2011

Ok so I am going to be off for a week, don't worry there will be posts scheduled to publish and I'll keep up with Emails on my phone.

So to the guest post, I'm offering out the oppertunity to write something in relation to one of the three subjects this Blog is about.  Movies, Music or Television.  The piece does not have to be particularly long or in any major detail.  I would ask that there are photo's and video's included if applicable.  You do not have to be a reader or commenter of the Blog I will look at everything.

If you just want to write something and leave a note of what photo's and video's to add then thats fine, in fact lets do that.  If you want some ideas here is a few.

I am wanting somethng about new movie Warrior coming out later this year, maybe you could do some sort of music review live or recorded on Lady GaGa.  Maybe you want to do TV then something relating to the Event on Channel 4 (UK) and NBC (USA) would be great.

Remember it does not have to be about one of those subjects you can write about anything you want in relation to current or older movies, music or television shows.  If I get more than one good article then I will publish them all not that week but maybe the week after with shout outs to the relevant people, blogs or web pages.

Forward you entries here musicgamingvideo(@)gmail(DOT)com, in the mean time subscribe to my RSS or via Email for all the latest straight to your inbox, and oh yeah get typing and forward it to me you have until 1st May 2011 to get your entries in.

Must Have Songs For You iPod - Week 7

Sunday, 17 April 2011

It's that time of the week again when I get to scroll through YouTube and share with you all the best music releases this week and also some classics which you should be adding to your iPod.

Now as far as new music goes there really is not that much coming out today or tomorrow, but we will have a look anyway and throw in some classics for you.  I have been having a Tiesto fest this week, a bit of a trip back to my days of being a nightclub DJ.  So here it goes.

Chris Brown - Yeah 3x

Now I'm not the biggest fan of this guy, I mean who would hit a woman especially Rhianna?  not me.  This song though is his latest offering and I think it's pretty good.

So as far as new music goes that is pretty much all that is good this week, there are others of course but not that I like.  Lest get on with the Tiesto fest and a trip down the Trance route.  If there was one song sure to pack my nightclub slot on a Saturday then this would be it, I was not even popular for playing Trance, but liked to mix it up a bit with my Funky House mix.

Tiesto - Adagio For String's

Now on my travels I found another tune which packed out my dance floor, I had not heard this for a long time until today.

Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel

So that's it for another week of tunes to be added to your iPod,  why not check out some earlier weeks here

Thanks for dropping by, and don't forget to FOLLOW me, subscribe via Email or RSS so you never miss out on the best music for your iPod week to week, have you shared this post with your Facebook or Twitter friends (followers) yet? No, why not.  Get on it (button's on the right).  Catch you again next week for all the latest.

Britan's Got Talent Episode 1 Auditions

Welcome to the start of our weekly look at Britans Got Talent, the biggest show on TV apart from the X Factor returned for it's fifth series on Saturday night, meaning that I will be here every week with your round up of dancers, singers and any other act you can imagine, I will report on the good, the bad and the truly awful auditions which from each week.

This is the first year the show will run without creator Simon Cowell on the judging panel, and also Piers Morgan with them both off committed to TV shows in America.

Amanda Holden returned to her role as judge along with her new work colleagues British comedian Michael Mcintyre and David Hasselhoff.  Now a lot of people thought the new show would be boring without the afore mentioned Simon Cowell.  Personally I'm not to crazy about the Hoff but Michael Mcintyre is very funny and he got off to a great start on the first week.

So lets have a look at the best and worst of what I can remember, first up.

Antonio (Popeye)

Straight off in the pre audition interview, you are thinking that Antonio is one of those acts that is going awful or amazing.  Straight from the off he had the Judges looking in the opposite direction, when.....wait for it.  He popped his eyes out of his head, is that a talent?  I can't do it that's for sure, nor would I want to.  Any way I'm not so sure the Queen would be that impressed.

Blair Christie

Now this guy is either nuts or he was doing this for a bet, you see Blair thinks he is a Dolphin.  Yeah you heard me right a Dolphin.  Blair works in Canary Wharf, London as a Financial Analyst, and we wonder why our country is skint.

Michael Collings

Now for a good one.  From the start of of his pre interview audition you are thinking no!  This is not going to be good.  Michael then walks onto the stage and the judge seem to have already made up their minds.  Then it comes, one of those Susan Boyle moments that is about to change someones life.  The best performance of the night by a country mile and straight yeses from the judges.

Steven Hall

Now this guy can jig a bit, and he is down wi the kidz.  Fair enough it's not the best audition ever and he probably won't win but he certainly made me laugh.  One minute he is doing Thriller then he rapping along to Slim Shady.

Chat Show Friday

Friday, 15 April 2011

Tonight sees the return of two of the UK's biggest chat shows on both the BBC and ITV.  For the BBC Graham Norton has only been away a month or two at that, but ITV's Paul O'Grady show has been finished since before Christmas.

So first up to tonight on ITV is Paul O'Grady the comic who is famed for his portrayal of Lilly Savage and his previous daytime show on Channel 4.  His show Paul O'Grady live was part of ITV's new line up last year and proved a massive hit, with several big stars lining up for a spot on the show.  Paul has a unique style to his brand of mayhem.

Tonight guest's Charlotte Church, Rupert Everett, John Cleese and Amanda Holden.  I'm looking forward to see Cleese on the show tonight, the interview should be great and Cleese and O'Grady should bounce off each other well.  My favourite interview from the previous show is in the video below.

Also returning to our screens tonight on BBC1 is the Graham Norton Show, admittedly Norton gets the bigger stars to the show, and he is equally if not more funny than O'Grady.  Being on the TV later at night his humour is allowed to be a little more on the adult side, nothing vulgar just good fun.

Tonight's guests include former Doctor Who stars David Tennant, Catherine Tate and singer songwriter Josh Groban will be dropping by for a chat as well as performing.

Also worth watching out for tonight over on Channel 4 at 10pm is David Walliams Awfully Good Ads, a ironic title really the show takes us on a tour of horrendous television adverts.  Its the second part of the show tonight and hopefully their will be some hilarity to be had, if you miss it don't worry I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for dropping by, if you liked this then why not check out Sarah Millican on the Graham Norton Show or maybe one of our older TV posts in relation to Channel 4 ScFi Show The Event.  FOLLOW me, or subscribe to the RSS or via Email for all the latest news gossip and reviews posted straight to your inbox.

New Cinema Releases: 14th April 2011

Once again this week the movie mentioned in the last post Rio has been the highest earner at the UK box office this week.  Now it's Friday again and the movie theaters are opening their doors with new offerings.  This week sees the release of six new movies to the cinema and as always I will guide you through the best of the bunch.  First up,

Scre4m 4

Starring: Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette

The fourth installment of the movie franchise unleashed on us back in 1996, many said it was the scariest movie they have ever seen (I don't agree).  The legendary mask is now often worn at fancy dress parties and as a Halloween costume.

So like I say we are now ten years down the line.  Sidney (Campbell) has decided to return to her home town of Woodsbro meeting up once again with Sheriff Dewy (Arquette) and Dawn (Cox).  Sidney has managed to put herself back on track thanks to a self help book that she has published.  Not one to leave a quiet life her re appearance in Woodsbro sees the return of the Ghostface killer.  Sidney, her friends and family Dewy and Dawn included are now all in danger.

Your Highness

Starring: Danny Mcbride, James Franco and Natalie Portman

The latest comedy offering from writer Danny Mcbirde sees prince Fabious's (Franco) wife kidnapped.  Prince Fabious goes on a mission to rescue her accompanied by his brother Thadeous who is both lazy and useless.  The two brothers are joined on their mission by Isbael (Portman) who is operating on her own agenda.  The movie looks like a popular choice for fans of the comedy genre and should provide some good laughs,  will I see it?  Probably not.  Actually maybe I will see part of the movie, I will forward it to the part where Natalie Portman is wearing a rather revealing bathing suit.

As always a one for the kids this week,

Winne The Pooh

Starring (voices): Jim Cummings (Pooh Bear and Tigger), John Cleese (Narrator)

Now I know my regular reader are not likely to be interested in or go to see Winnie the Pooh, but it is a children's classic and happens to be on in my house quite often.  In fact I can probably tell you more about this than many of the other movies that I talk about (don't worry I won't).

The latest adventure sees Pooh bear set off on an adventure after he reads a note left by Christopher Robin.  Pooh convince's all his friend's Piglet, Tigger, Owl, Kanga, Roo and Rabbit to go on the adventure telling them that a creature named Backson has captured their friend Christopher and they all must help to find him.

So that's what is new at the cinema this weekend.  If you liked this then why not check out what was at the cinema last week, ore maybe even the week before that.  You can also check out the latest movie news about Johnny English Reborn.

New Movie Picture: Transformers 3

Wednesday, 13 April 2011

Now this is not technically news, but I saw it and had a laugh to myself.  As we all know Shia LaBeouf is returning to our screens later this year as Sam Witwiky in Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon.

This is a new picture from the movie, can anyone tell me what Shia is doing or planning on doing with his hand?

I don't suppose you can blame him she is pretty hot, right?  Her name is Rosie Huntington Whiteley and she plays Carly in the movie.

I know you're laughing, thanks for dropping by and don't forget leave your comments below.  You can FOLLOW me and even subscribe via E-Mail Check out the trailer for Transformers 3 here, and take a look over at the new Johnny English Reborn trailer if you want some more laughs.

Johnny English Reborn

Tuesday, 12 April 2011

I know Rowan Atkinson is not that cool, but the movie we are talking about probably will be.

Atkinson will be stepping back into the shoes of Johnny English the hapless intelligence officer working for Her Majesty’s Secret Service.  His latest adventure sees him back in the fold trying to stop a group of international assassins before they eliminate a world leader and cause global chaos.  Since the last movie MI-7’s best agent has been honing his skills in a remote region of Asia, but is brought back by MI-7 to untangle a web that involves the KGB, CIA and even MI-7.  If you did not see the first movie, then take my word it is very funny, ok not the best movie ever in fact the story is not even that great, but if you are in the mood for a more traditional laugh then this could be for you.

We will have to wait a little while though as Johnny English Reborn is not due in UK cinemas until 7th October 2011, but in the mean time you can watch the trailer below.
