Movie Trailer: CONTRABAND Starring Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg kick ass doesn’t he? I love his last offering like this, 2007’s Shooter is a movie I can watch time and time again, that’s not because it’s the best movie ever made it’s just so easy to watch and follow the story.  I heard about Contraband a couple of weeks back and meant to put the trailer out then, I just didn’t get round to it, so here it is for you now with Wahlberg back to what he does best.

Starring: Mark Wahlberg, Giovanni Ribisi, Kate Beckinsale, Ben Foster and Lucas Haas

Wahlberg is back doing the action thriller genre, in Contraband he heads up what is a fairly reasonable kick ass cast for this type of movie.  Ben Foster, starred alongside Jason Statham in The Mechanic and Kate Beckinsale has slayed plenty vampires in her time so, she is no stranger to action roles.

The movie is set in New Orleans, and takes us to the underbelly of the counter fit smuggling world.  Whalberg plays Chris Farraday, a legendary smuggler who left the game to be with his wife and children. His wife’s brother Andy (Caleb Landry Jones) stays in the game and botches a drug smuggling operation and now he has ruthless crime boss Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi) on his back.  Farraday is forced back into the game he left in his past and quickly puts together a team, they head to Panama and plan to return with millions in counter fit bills.

Looks good doesn’t it?  I think it will be along similar lines to Shooter, a movie that you can enjoy and really not worry about having to think to hard, plenty of action for a Saturday night in front of the TV with a box of popcorn, well beer would probably be better actually.
