Thank You CBS ACTION For Bringing Sgt Doakes Back to our Screens

Wednesday, 5 December 2012

If you don't live in the UK then you probably don't know what I'm talking about, CBS Action is one of the many free-to-air TV stations we receive here. I'll be honest this channel along with it's counter parts CBS Reality and CBS Drama are ones I've never really checked out before, the reason? Well, generally there is not much on them, not that I'd like to watch anyway, but now it seems they are taking a big leap into bringing the UK some quality American TV shows for free. To start off they have hit the ground running with none other than Showtime's Emmy and Golden Globe winning drama Dexter. If your a big Dexter fan like me then you'll know already that season 7 is currently airing in the US, here in the UK we are awaiting the premiere on FX (soon to be FOX) who currently have the rights for the latest series' of big US TV shows including The Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, Burn Notice and of course Dexter. It was a great surprise for me when flicking through my Sky EPG to see Dexter's first ever episode had just started on CBS last night, of course there was nothing else on so I just dove right in.

I've already seen the first season of Dexter and you can check out my "Pilot" review of the show HERE, but if your not a fan and have always thought about watching the show then this is a great opportunity, especially if you don't have pay-per-view TV. CBS will be airing Dexter's first season at 10pm every weeknight. You may as well come back here and check out my reviews of each and every episode as you go, and be sure to join in the comments and let me know what you think. I have actually seen the "Pilot" episode of the show a bunch of times now, being so far into the show as I am it kind of takes a new angle for me every time, but the last time I watched it I actually read the script first, not normally my thing but if your into TV and you have seen Dexter, or any show for that matter do a search for the script online. Honestly, you think watching the show a bunch of times brings something new? Read the script, I promise you won't be disappointed.

Sgt James Doakes
To the title of this article now, you haven't seen Dexter? Then you don't know who Sgt James Doakes (Erik King) is. Well, let me tell you if you that Dexter is worth checking out for him alone, his witty one liners and personal hate of lab geek weirdo Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) is brilliant, don't like Doakes to start with? Don't worry neither did I but the guy quickly grows on you and he's almost a legend between Dexter fans, most probably because he is so "plot" involved (don't take that literally) even now in the latest seasons, I really can not say anymore than that without spoiling it for you.

The plot of season one introduces us to Dexter Morgan as an adult but through flashbacks you quickly learn that he was adopted by a cop Harry Morgan (James Remar) when he was a young kid. Harry learns that Dexter has an urge to kill and helps him out by teaching him firstly how not to get caught, but secondly that he should live by a code. What's the code? Well, he only kills people who have escaped justice, more importantly killers who slip the net of Miami Metro police department who Dexter works for as a blood spatter expert. Season one of Dexter sees him go after the Ice Truck Killer, a fellow serial killer who really is a little to close to home, I've posted the trailer for you to check out below, and once again thank you CBS Action.

TV Overview: REVOLUTION Mid-Season Finale - Nobody's Fault But Mine 1.10

Sunday, 25 November 2012

I have talked plenty about J.J. Abrams’ sci-fi drama Revolution, I reviewed everything from the “Pilot” to the fourth episode, following its third offer “No Quarter” I was wondering and posing the question, will this show get any better? Turns out after that episode it did improve slightly when it delivered episode 4 “The Plague Dogs”, a very impressive character based episode which gave me a feeling that maybe things were just going to get a little better from here on in, unfortunately that was not the case and I didn’t talk about Revolution again until maybe the seventh or eighth episode, I don’t remember the name of the episode, and to be quite honest I don’t really care, if you remember though I titled my review – who turned out the light’s? I don’t think anyone cares anymore. That was basically a review of a handful of episodes, none of which had filled me with any confidence that Revolution was going to serve up anything decent.

With shows like Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue having just been cancelled I was wondering that since we are heading towards the season finale of Revolution would it suffer the same fate. No, it won’t is the short answer to that. The reason, well it’s only the mid-season finale before Revolution takes a four month hiatus from our screens, it will return in March 2013 with the remaining twelve episodes of its first season, giving it a total of twenty two episodes. Now I have to say that reviews have been mixed on the show, mine certainly have, well actually I only gave it one decent write up the rest have all concerned the negative factors. Problem is I’m bored with this show after ten episodes, and I’m wondering will any one bother returning to the show after such a long break.

NBC seem to have a thing for doing this, they done the same with The Event, and another network tried it with FlashForward, both of which I thought were better than Revolution, but that’s by the by now. Ratings would suggest that people will be back to see what happens, Revolution’s “Pilot” was directed by Iron Man master John Favreau and attracted almost 24 million viewers across America and Canada, the same went for the shows encore a couple of nights later, even after the ninth episode (again, I don’t remember the name) Revolution is still attracting over 12 million viewers (almost Dexter territory). I just wonder how many of those 12 million plus will be back after such a long break and new shows to come in January. NBC see this as a good thing as they believe that people who are not already watching may go and watch a box set or online streaming, and they hope that will garner up more interest for its return to our screens.

Revolution does have its good points, Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito would be top of that list with the young kid being held hostage by the Monroe Republic coming a very close second (somebody Matheson). But unfortunately for me the shows bad points far out weigh the good ones, Tracey Spiridakos for instance, would be more at home starring in a low budget made for SyFy horror movie, her skills do not sit with the a for mentioned Giancarlo’s. And then there is the fact that nine episodes in and I still don’t feel attached to any of the characters, I watch it weekly and simply go through the motions.

The mid-season finale looks like it will be quite good, probably to make sure you come back to watch some more, but seriously though, it looks like General Monroe is going to have the power to turn the electricity back on, meaning that he can unleash his arsenal of helicopters and tanks on the various other countries that have now formed in what was the United States, I suppose that could get interesting, but we’ll have to wait and find out I guess. As I’ve watched it this far then I suppose it’s only fair to come back and see what it has to offer, but one things for sure I won’t be going back over the previous episodes in order to have myself caught up. How about you? What do you think of Revolution? Do you watch the show? And, will you be back for more?

TV Previews: DEXTER 7.3 - Buck the System, HOMELAND 2.3 - State of Independence, REVOLUTION 1.5 - Soul Train

Sunday, 14 October 2012

Dexter 7.3 - “Buck the System”

I have been hugely impressed with Dexter since its return to our TV screens a couple of weeks back, last weeks “Sunshine and Frosty Swirl” saw Debra taking on babysitting duties in an attempt to rehabilitate her serial killer brother, of course we knew that would never last and this week Dexter is at breaking point wanting Debra to back off before something bad happens, I can only presume he means him killing her as apposed to drugging her food. “Buck the System” looks like another great instalment with Louis getting creepier than ever and Dexter's new love interest Hanna (Yvonne Strahovski) joining the cast.

Homeland 2.3 – “State of Independence”

If you didn’t see Homeland last week then boy did you miss a treat, that reveal at the end with Saul Bresnan finding out that his paranoid partner Carrie had been right about the loyalties of Sgt Nick Brody all along, wow. This show really is brilliant but so far I’m not really feeling the need to write about it every week (think I’ll leave that to real writers). This week’s “State of Independence" like all the other shows looks like a brilliant episode which can’t be missed as the net will surely be closing in on Brody, but, where does the story go from here?

Revolution 1.5 “Soul Train”

You may remember from my review of “The Plague Dogs” that I have a new found desire to watch this show, it delivered its best episode yet as far as story line and character development goes with the previous episode. The story of Miles Matheson was one of those stories that was looking continually promising as the group made their way across America in search of Danny Matheson, currently being held captor by Militia Captain Tom Neville. “Soul Train” looks like it will be delivering that story line a little further as Neville and Miles Matheson come face to face in what looks like another classy episode of Revolution which will be packed with action.

Weekly TV Previews: Will REVOLUTION Get Any Better? PERSON OF INTEREST Finding Mr Finch, VEGAS and There Back DEXTER Season 7, HOMELAND Season 2

Saturday, 29 September 2012

Hello and welcome back to the regular Fall TV season feature here at Movies Music & Television of the weeks TV previews, like always I will preview the next episode of all the shows currently under review here at MM&T as well as the shows which I’m watching but maybe not writing about every week. This is the first one back since last Fall so some shows (Dexter/Homeland) are yet to premiere on their respective networks, there for not to much to give away right now, but we’ll get through what we can, here goes;

Revolution – No Quarter 1.3

Following two episodes of Revolution I’m yet to be enthralled by what’s been on offer, best way to put it, is that in my opinion it’s been mediocre when compared to other works from J.J. Abrams, that’s not say that it can’t get better and in all honesty I hope it does, I touched on the subject in my review of “….” That there are plenty of avenues for the show to go down and hopefully it will do that. In respect of this review, well it does not really give much away other than Miles (Billy Burke) telling Charlie (Tracey Spiridakos) that the futuristic USB stick has the ability to turn the power back on and give the US it’s power back, take a look and let me know what you think.

Person of Interest – Bad Code 2.2

It goes without saying that Person of Interest is the best show that J.J. Abrams has on TV right now and the season 2 premiere did not disappoint in any way whatsoever. Reese was back to doing what he does best in kicking ass whilst Finch was off being all mysterious and wisdom like fencing off against computer hacker Root (Amy Acker). It seems that season 2 will deliver action, drama and mystery at the same level and above from what we got during season one and I can’t wait. “Bad Code” sees the hunt for Mr Finch head to Texas and possibly the first opportunity for the Machine to act outside of its usual jurisdiction of New York, amidst the kick ass who thinks Reese will be successful in finding Finch this week?

Vegas – Money Plays 1.2

From all of the pilot episodes I have seen so far in this Fall season this one has by far impressed me the most, it delivered a classy first episode which saw a weekly crime procedural mix together what should be a longer running feud between law enforcement and a local Mob boss, I’m hoping the weekly procedural side of things drops like I said in the review and hopefully we concentrate more on the bad guys v good guys side of things. The latest offering from Vegas “Money Pays” looks to continue in the light of the “Pilot”, plenty of kick ass from Dennis Quaid and a weekly procedural, I don’t mind that to much if like Person of Interest they can keep the focus on the main story behind the characters, take a look at the preview.

Dexter – Are You…? 7.1

Without doubt the biggest returning show of the Fall season is Dexter, hype has been building since last December when Dexter Morgan plunged his knife into the chest of Travis Marshall’s chest, only to be caught by his sister and Miami Metro Lieutenant Debra Morgan, finally part of Dexter’s secret is out but now Dexter must fight even harder to stay one step ahead of Miami Metro and more importantly his sister, who can never find out the full truth behind Miami’s best blood spatter expert. Being the first episode I can’t find a direct trailer for the episode but this is the latest preview available from three days ago, enjoy.

Homeland – The Smile 2.1

Homeland was without doubt the biggest new drama to hit screens last Fall, from start to finish it was brilliant, it had you constantly guessing, is Nick Brody (Damien Lewis) a terrorist? Or is CIA Agent Carrie (Clare Danes) as crazy as everyone thinks she is? The question was answered during the season 1 finale when Sgt Brody was preparing to blow up the US President and a roomful of his representatives, of course he didn’t go through with it but now he has an even bigger position of power, spurred on terrorist Abu Nazir, Sgt Brody is now a US Congressman with an influential voice in US politics. Again like Dexter I don’t have a trailer for the first episode but this latest teaser really promises that Homeland will once again be hard hitting and possibly even better than season one.

WALKING DEAD: What's Next? - Guest Post

Sunday, 23 September 2012

The final scene at the end of the second season of "The Walking Dead" overjoyed fans of the long running comic book and caused newcomers to the material to instantly begin buzzing about the mysterious cloaked figure. Because it is practically impossible to avoid spoilers on the Internet, the majority of the show's non-comic book fans quickly discovered that the person in the cloak was none other than fan favorite Michonne. Her upcoming full introduction in the third season has fans eagerly counting down the days until the season premiere, as does the pending introduction of The Governor, most commonly referred to as the nastiest character of the entire series.

What Can Fans Expect from Season Three?

The third season will find the group of survivors seeking asylum in a large prison. Although there will be a lot of zombies to contend with, Rick and the rest of the group will be all too tempted by the lure of a fully enclosed safe haven, and they will take whatever steps are necessary to fortify their new home. Unfortunately, the prison's entire human population will not have cleared out when the zombie apocalypse hit, so there will be some interesting issues brought into play by these new characters.

Michonne will prove to be both an invaluable fighting ally and an unstable individual. Her penchant for chopping heads off will definitely endear her to those who consider the zombies to be their biggest threat, but some of the other characters will see her as a personal threat. This will cause a strain on some of the currently established relationship dynamics, and it will help the show retain its important core of human emotions.

Daryl's brother Merle will return to the scene, and it is a given that he will be looking for revenge. Although Daryl does feel a very strong tie to several of the other survivors in the group, especially Carol, his familial tie is strong, so it will be especially interesting to see what choices his character makes.

How will the Show Differ from the Comic Books?

Fans of the comic book have been buzzing since the very first episode about how difficult this particular season would be to faithfully adapt for television. The comic book was always dark, but as soon as The Governor was introduced things took a drastic turn for the worse. It will be interesting to see how far the show's creative team is willing to go, but it is almost guaranteed that some of the harsher elements from the comic book will either be skipped or downplayed. As an example, there was an extended sequence in the comic book in which one of the female characters was brutally beaten and raped multiple times. It is difficult to conceive of this occurring on the TV show, but
AMC has not shied away from gore or difficult topics yet, so they might surprise the viewers with just how much they decide to include.

It will also be very interesting to see whether or not Rick makes it through the season with both of his hands intact. If the show is going to follow the comic book, then one of his hands has to be forcibly removed. The show's creators might choose to skip this, however, if only to avoid having to put two of their actors through the process of working with only one hand.

Basic Season Three Information

The first episode of the third season will debut on October 14, 2012. The new season will be split in half, with eight episodes airing this fall and the following eight airing in the spring.

New TV Shows Fall 2012, 666 PARK AVENUE, REVOLUTION, LAST RESORT, VEGAS and ARROW, What Will I be Reviewing?

Thursday, 30 August 2012

Did you catch the post yesterday relating to all the returning shows that I will be watching and reviewing this year? No, well be sure to go check that out, if you didn’t and can’t be bothered then you should know that Dexter and Person of Interest will be the main two shows that I will be reviewing weekly, whilst also dipping in and out of Homeland and The Walking Dead. In this post I want to talk about all the new shows which will be coming our way this fall, which ones I will be watching and what will be added to my review list, your comments and suggestions are welcome as always and please let me know if there is anything I’ve missed which should be included here. I will review all the “Pilot” episodes of the shows which are mentioned below.

Revolution (NBC, Monday’s @10pm) – Premiere September 17th

I put out the trailer for NBC’s Revolution some time ago now and I have to say that out of everything that is new this season this is the show that I’m most looking forward to. The reasons? Well, firstly it’s brought to us by J.J. Abrams and his production company Bad Robot, responsible for shows like Lost and Person of Interest, however there names can also be seen alongside some of TV’s lesser shows, like Alcatraz for example. Revolution looks to be in a different league all together from Alcatraz though and seems like it could truly be the next Lost, although if like me you watch Person of Interest that is brilliant also. Revolution picks up its story fifteen years after the loss of all electrical power and energy, having mysteriously disappeared we follow a group of survivors (including Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito) on their mission to survive the world they find themselves in. It looks really good and I can’t wait to see how it works out, let’s just hope it fares better than Alcatraz and does miles better than NBC’s last drama effort Awake.

666 Park Avenue (ABC, Sunday’s @10pm) – Premiere September 30th

I’m not really sure what to make of this show right now, it does look really good but I fear for me that there may be a few hide behind the pillow moments, no only kidding I will watch this show but I’m unsure as to weather or not I will be reviewing it every week. The show has a supernatural edge but is billed as a drama, it follows the new managers of a hotel named 666 Park Avenue (of course), the new managers come to learn that there esteemed guests may not be all that they seem. I will probably watch the first few episodes and see how it goes from there.

Last Resort (ABC, Thursday’s @8pm) – Premiere September 27th

Last Resort is another show which I’m not really that sure on, the reason I say that is because of its scheduling. The premise here looks pretty good and we are set to follow a US Submarine crew who are out on exercise when they refuse to obey a direct order of firing missiles at Pakistan, their refusal makes them become the enemy and the US fire on them causing them to take refuge on a fictional island named Sainte Marina, knowing that they are now enemies of their own country they declare themselves a sovereign state with nuclear capabilities whilst also trying to find out who set them up. What puts me off? Well… Terra Nova came with an interesting premise which had a lot of people excited, but the scheduling was similar to this show in that it aired at 8pm, meaning family TV. I hope Last Resort turns out a little better but I guess we will have to wait and see.

Vegas (CBS, Tuesday’s @10pm) – Premiere September 25th

Set in the 1960’s I’m not so sure that Vegas will get my full attention, I let Magic City go by without watching the Pilot after all. Vegas does come with a strong cast and a mobster storyline through so you never know, maybe I’ll surprise myself. The show is the true life story of Sheriff Ralf Lamb (played by Dennis Quaid) who formerly worked as a rancher, he was the Sheriff in Clark County from 1961 to 1979 and this charts his battle against mobster Vincent Savino (Michael Chiklis). The show also stars Terra Nova’s Jason O’Mara, so I will watch the Pilot and then see how it goes from there I think.

Arrow (The CW, Wednesday’s @8pm) – Premiere October 10th

I know very little about this show other than its based on a DC comic book hero named Green Arrow who is clearly not famous enough to get a movie deal. Comic book adaptations are not really my thing if I’m honest, I don’t mind the movies but I attempted to watch The Cape a while back and that was terrible so I will treat the arrow as a back up in case all of the above fails to impress me.

So, that’s it for the new shows coming this year, Revolution is by far and away the favourite for me and we will just see how the rest get on, there will of course be British TV to review including The X Factor which features Nicole Scherzinger, BBC's Good Cop and Luther is also set to return which this year, then there is always movies and box sets, I'm currently a couple of episodes into season one of Sons Of Anarchy courtesey of LOVEFiLM Instant which I will be reviewing soon. Any thoughts?

Returning TV Shows Fall 2012, DEXTER, HOMELAND, PERSON OF INTEREST and THE WALKING DEAD, What Will I Be Reviewing?

Tuesday, 28 August 2012

As you probably know there really has not been to much on TV lately, in the last three weeks that would be largely due to the Olympics, fair play but some TV would have been nice. If you read this blog often then you’ll know that I have been occupying myself with some box sets, first up was Dexter season 2, which was brilliant and then I have been watching Breaking Bad's second season, which was also brilliant. Thing is were are coming towards September now and you know what that means, good TV will be back with all of our regular favourites, here I want to give you an indication of what you can expect to see from Movies Music & Television during the Fall TV schedule of returning shows, what I will be watching and what I will be reviewing. I will review all of the returning season premieres, but from there I discuss below what I may continue with.

Dexter – Season 7 (Showtime, Sunday’s @9pm) – Premiere September 30th

It goes without saying really that I will be covering Dexter, if you read this blog often then you know its one of my favourite shows on TV, I didn’t watch the first four seasons but I’m looking to make up for that and have already watched seasons one and two, I am thinking now that we are getting pretty close to the season 7 premiere so maybe I’ll just leave seasons three and four so I can assure my weekly Dexter fix once season seven wraps. Season 6 was not one of the best for Dexter but I still really enjoyed it, especially the ending where Debra caught her adoptive brother plunging his knife into the chest of The Doomsday Killer Travis Marshall (Colin Hanks). I will be reviewing every episode of Dexter season 7, so subscribe to make sure you don’t miss out.

Dexter season 6 reviews

6.6 – Just Let Go
6.7 - Nebraska
6.9 – Get Gellar
6.10 – Ricochet Rabbit

Homeland – Season 2 (Showtime, Sunday’s @10pm) – Premiere September 30th

Homeland is a show which I really enjoyed and during it’s first season I watched and reviewed most episodes, it’s hard to pick a favourite but the finale was brilliant watching protagonist Brody (Damien Lewis) come full circle ready to blow up the US President, he didn’t go through with it of course and it now looks like he is going to run for office which will see Homeland’s second season take more of a political angle, I don’t mind that but I wouldn’t say its really what I look for in a TV show, as far as Homeland goes you can be sure I will be watching every episode but I’m thinking that maybe this is going to be a season premiere review, a possible mid-season and the season finale, unless of course it is really great and I feel the need to write about it every week.

Homeland season 1 reviews

1.1 - Pilot
1.3 – Clean Skin
1.4 – Semper I
1.5 - Blindspot
1.7 – The Weekend
1.9 - Crossfire
1.11 – The Vest

Person of Interest – Season 2 (CBS, Thursday’s @10pm) – Premiere September 27th

Again, Person of Interest is a given, I will be watching and reviewing every single episode of this great show. Some people I heard of gave up on Mr’s Reese and Finch about three or four episodes in, all I can say to that is you should have stuck it out because is quickly became apparent that Person of Interest is not your normal weekly procedural, we now roll into the second season with questions looming large as to who Root is? And what she wants with Mr Finch, and more importantly who was on the other end of that telephone in the season finale closing scene? I’m sure POI will provide us with yet another fun thrilled ride.

1.1  – Pilot
1.2  – Ghosts
1.3  – Mission Creep
1.4   - Cura Te Ipsum
1.5  – Judgement
1.6  – The Fix
1.7  – Witness
1.9  – Get Carter
1.10          – Number Crunch
1.11          – Super
1.12          – Legacy
1.13          – Root Cause
1.14          – Wolf and Cub
1.15          – Blue Code
1.16          – Risk
1.17          – Baby Blue
1.18          – Identity Crisis
1.19          – Flesh and Blood
1.20          – Matsya Nyaya
1.21          – Many Happy Returns
1.22          – No Good Deed
1.23          – Firewall

As for episode 8 which I missed out first time around, I will watch that again when it airs in the UK, following that I will put out the review.

The Walking Dead – Season 3 (ABC, Sunday’s @9pm) – Premiere October 14th

I still have not seen season one of The Walking Dead, but I did really enjoy season two, more so towards the end and during its second stint on TV, this is one of those shows which breaks for the festive period and usually returns around February time, I reviewed a few episodes of the second season including the mightily impressive “Pretty Much Dead Already”, with season 3 I will be reviewing the premiere and then seeing where it goes from there, I will watch them all and hopefully with the introduction of all the new characters there will be something to talk about other than zombies.

The Walking Dead season 2 reviews

2.5 – Chupacabra

So there is the low down on what I will be watching and reviewing in all of our favourite returning drams this year, I’ll be back tomorrow with a list of new shows coming to TV this fall and I’ll talk there on which ones I will be watching and adding to the weekly reviews, ideally there will be about two.

New DEXTER Season 7 Trailer

Sunday, 19 August 2012

It's been a while since Showtime released the Dexter season 7 two minute sneak peek and now there back with this latest Dexter trailer which is by far and away the most revealing one we have seen. Check it below.

Yeah, by far the best trailer so far and are we finally going to see a different side to our favourite Miami based serial killer? It seems like Dexter is going to be living on the edge during this penultimate season and his character is going to go slightly psychotic compared to the usually cool and collected man we would usually see. The big question we had last time round was weather or not Deb would turn the man she loves into the police, it seems she won't and although we could have guessed that it still seems like its going to be a real battle for Dexter to convince her that he is just the man she has known all these years. Debra is going to be looking into the Bay Harbour Butcher files and she discovers a link, the way Dexter had Travis Marshall's body wrapped up is exactly the way The Butcher done it, the pieces are all finally falling into place for Debra as promised. Asides from that Laguerta discovers one of Dexter's blood slides at the crime scene which Dexter has now burnt out, Laguerta "who uses blood slides?" Masuka, "the only person who used blood slides was the Bay Harbour Butcher". So, not only will Debra be looking at the Butcher case but it seems like maybe the whole of Miami Metro will returning to one it's most famous cases. That would cause Masuka to become involved and in the trailer it looks like Dexter kills him, or is it just one of those sequences which Dexter runs through his head? Just like back in season 2 when he contemplated telling Debra that he was the Bay Harbour Butcher. Away from Masuka there is the new Miami Metro intern, the guy who I warned would be someone for Dexter to worry about after he posted a frozen had to Dexter from the case of The Ice Truck Killer. In the trailer Louis says he wants to see Dexter lying in his own piss, why? What does he know about Dexter? And more importantly will Dexter kill him? Here's hoping.

An image from episode 2 "The Shadow Knows"

I really can't wait for season 7 of Dexter to start, not long now September 30th at 9pm on Showtime, be there or be square, as they say.

TV Preview: PERSON OF INTEREST Channel 5 Tuesday's at 10pm

Monday, 13 August 2012

Finally, its here, hit US TV action drama Person of Interest is due to start on UK’s Channel 5 this Tuesday, August 14th. Haven’t heard of the show? Then take a look at the trailer I have for you here and let me take you through some of the twists and turns you can expect from this brilliant show. First off take a look at the trailer to wet your appetite and then we’ll get talking below.

So, first off I should mention that Person of Interest is a J.J Abrams production, he’s the guy responsible for shows like Lost and Alcatraz, although the second is probably not the best example to give believe me when I tell you that Person of Interest is way better than Alcatraz and after 23 episodes in the first season I’m currently sitting with bated breath for the second to start on US network CBS. Second to Abrams being involved in the production, some brilliant writers also align themselves with this show including Jonathan Nolan, one of the men responsible for the latest series of Dark Knight movies, now you just can’t get any better than that.

I will be totally honest and upfront with you here and say that Person of Interest probably won’t grab your attention immediately, although the “Pilot” episode is very intriguing, the second episode doesn’t really do that much, but believe me when I tell you that the show is well worth your full attention and when you’ve seen the third episode “Mission Creep” you will be hooked just like me.

Person of Interest is the story of John Reese (Jim Cavizel) a former military man who is now walking civvy street, he gave up everything he loved for his job and is now left homeless attempting to drink himself to death, that is until he is arrested for kicking some young punks asses on the New York metro system. His arrest sparks a web of mystery among the police especially when he is bailed out by an anonymous party. That anonymous party is reclusive billionaire businessman Harold Finch (Michael Emerson, Ben in Lost). Mr Finch is a computer genius and has devised a program which detects that people (within the confines of New York City) who are going to become involved in bad situations, problem is he doesn’t know in what way they will be involved be it perpetrator, victim or witness, now he needs the help of someone who is an expert in the field of surveillance that can find out the truth and prevent the incident from happening, cue John Reese.

I’m saying no more than that because it will only give away to much and you honestly don’t want me to do that, I reviewed every single episode of the first season with the exception of episode 8 named “Foe”, I will catch up with that review when the episode airs here in the UK, I did watch it but don’t remember what happened. Now if your new to the show and your going to be watching then make sure you come back here to Movies Music & Television, more specifically this page (bookmark it) because below is a link to every review that has been done, please feel free to comment and give me your opinion.

*Note season 2 starts in the US on September 27th, I will be watching and reviewing every episode here on the site, just in case you want to keep up with that.*
