Who Will Replace Matt Damon As Jason Bourne

Sunday, 27 February 2011

The writer and director of the Bourne movies Tony Gilroy is on the look out for a big Hollywood name to replace Matt Damon and super assasin Jason Bourne, the fourth movie in the series "The Bourne Legacy" is planned for August 2012 so Gilroy is going to have to work quick to find some one who can hold there own on what is going to be a massive box office movie, not only that but with Matt Damon's shoes to fill the succsessor should be carefully selected.

The heaveyweight Hollywood names being banded around at the moment are Jake Gyllenhaal, Toby Maguire, Josh Hartnett and Garrett Hedlund. All big names but only two of them for me could step into Matt Damon's role and pull it off.

My top choice would have to be Jake Gyllenhaal, for me he has been in more roles with this sort of story and is pretty big player in Hollywood, his new movie Source Code coming out April this year looks great, and he could definatly fill a void left by Matt Damon.

On the other Hand Toby Maguire is no stranger to the Hollywood spotlight having been in big budget box office hits of the superhero genre, his other movies tend to be more on the romantic and drama side of things though and nothing sticks out that he has done in the past, that said he is a great actor and would no doubt be a hot contender for the role.

Gilroy is keen to remind us that no one is replacing Matt Damon as such and the Bourne Legacy is not a prequel to the Bourne series. Gilroy has said the Bourne Legacy is going to be a whole new chapter in the story along with a new character to grow.

I'm sure what ever decision is made the Bourne Legacy will be a great movie, and well worth going to see at the flicks, let me know what you think as always drop me a line below in the comments section below want to contact me its musicgamingvideo@gmail.com and you can follow me at twitter.com/@Martyv28

James Franco, Movie Star

Saturday, 26 February 2011

So I posted about James Franco a little while ago in the weekly news, you've probably heard of him he has been in some pretty good big budget movies Spiderman, The Green Hornet and 127 Hours to name but a few.

Franco is of course going to be hosting the Oscar's, and is making a pretty big name for himself of late, being well on the way to being a big Hollywood leading man.

Franco's latest project sees him in Rise Of The Apes which will be released in the UK 25th November 2011. The movie is set in San Francisco and center's around a guy conducting genetic engineering leading to the intelligence of Apes, causing a war for supremacy.

The movie looks quite promising and and should be worth a watch for Franco in the leading role. Franco is not leaving it there and also has great movies on the way like The Broken Tower and OZ: The Great And Powerful.

Franco has got a busy year ahead and I'm sure the offers for big budget box office movies will continue to pour in next year

X Facotr Voting On Facebook

Wednesday, 23 February 2011

ITV and Simon Cowell are about to start a new trend and quite possibly change the way we vote on reality television programs.

Bosses are now in talks with 26 year old Billionaire Mark Zuckerberg the owner of Facebook currently the biggest website in the world with 550million members worldwide. The voting system is hopefully going to be introduced on both side of the Atlantic with the American X Factor set to start later this year.

Facebook Owner Mark Zuckerberg
This is set to revolutionise the way we vote on reality television programs like X Factor, Britain Got Talent and I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here to name but a few. Viewers in the UK will be able to buy facebook credit enabling them to vote, unlike our American counterparts who do not pay to vote due to Broadcasting laws

Surely two of the richest men on the planet are going to see themselves get even richer, with even more people being introduced to the website that revolutionised social networking.

Apollo 18

Tuesday, 22 February 2011

UK Release date 22nd April 2011

This is a new Sci-Fi Horror movie based on a supposed Apollo 18 mission to the moon in December 1973 that NASA say never happened. Dont think this is going to be anything like Apollo 13 or Mission To Mars and is set mainly on the moon and in a spacecraft.

The movie looks promising and the official trailer is now on the internet, the footage in the trailer is said to be the actual footage taken by the astronauts themselves many say this is the real reason we've never been back to the moon.

Movie Review: UNSTOPPABLE Starring Denzel Washington

Monday, 21 February 2011

Ok so I finally got my ass into gear this weekend and got round to watching a movie. There has not been many posts this month sorry for that I've been busy over here http://hubpages.com/profile/Martyv25 take a look maybe you'll enjoy the reading.

On with the review, this weeks movie Unstoppable.

Whos In It

Denzel Washington, Chris Pine and Rosario Dawson

The Plot

Denzel Washington is a train driver who has a new rookie (Chris Pine) working with him, two dummy down at the train switching station accidently set a train with no air brakes attached and the throttle on full. As usual Denzel and his counterpart save the day with a daring attempt to stop the runaway train.

The Verdict

All in all I thought this movie was great. The action started pretty much from the off, ok you could see where the story was going and how it was going to end but if you are like me then that does not really matter as long as you enjoy it. Denzel is prertty much himself, you know! the coolest man on the planet when under preassure and he is backed up by a good supporting cast. If you want a movie with plenty of non stop action that does not really require a lot of thinking about then this movie is for you.

Would I watch It Again?

Definatly, I would watch this movie again tomorrow. Like I say great fun non stop action without to much to think aout.

My Star Rating

****, great fun.

Well thats it for this weeks movie, thanks for dropping by as always and remember you can contact me musicgamingvideo@gmail.com or follow me at Twitter.com/@Martyv28 dont't forget to leave your comments.

Jason Segel Attached to Star in ‘Undercover Cop’

Briefly: It’s going to be a big year for Jason Segel. He’s finishing The Muppets, has a role in Bad Teacher, which hits this summer, and now it looks like he could be the star of Undercover Cop. OK, not the greatest title, but the concept could work: the comedy is based on the story of a cop who “infiltrated the New Jersey criminal underworld” in the ’80s. Let’s hope it’s something like Donnie Brasco meets Beverly Hills Cop rather than, say, Donnie Brasco meets the ’04 Starsky & Hutch.
Coen Brothers Will Watch Tara Reid in ‘The Big Lebowski 2,’ If It Gets Made
The saddest or most amusing statement so far this week, depending upon your perspective, came from a substance-affected Tara Reid on the red carpet for a benefit event in Los Angeles . The actress, who played nympho trophy wife (to use the parlance of our time) Bunny Lebowski in The Big Lebowski, said that a sequel would shoot this year. Ha ha, good one Tara! Oh, wait. You’re serious? Gulp.

Austin 360 mentioned it to the Coen Brothers, and Ethan Coen said, “I’m glad she’s working on it…we don’t [have a sequel in the works] but we’ll watch it when it comes out.” Joel Coen chimed in, “Especially if Tara’s in it.” Good to see they’ve got a sense of humor about it. All I request of Tara Reid is that, should this sequel ever happen (it won’t) please make sure John Turturro‘s idea to have his character Jesus Quintana show up as a school bus driver is put into play. (And for the record, Tara Reid’s reps have tried to clarify the story, saying “she heard Jeff Bridges say that he wanted to make Big Lebowski 2 and have all the original cast members in it, so she may have misspoke, thinking that included her based on what Jeff said.”)

Johnny Depp Passes on Sam Raimi’s ‘Oz, the Great and Powerful;’ James Franco Next

Finding a new wizard of Oz is proving to be much more difficult than following a yellow brick road. First Robert Downey Jr. stepped out from behind the curtain, next Johnny Depp passed on the role and now director Sam Raimi is hoping that he can reunite with his Oscar-nominated Spider-Man co-star to headline Oz, the Great and Powerful. James Franco is in preliminary talks to star in Raimi’s Wizard of Oz prequel after Depp passed on the role this week. Read more after the jump. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news of Depp turning down the role and Franco being next on Raimi’s wish list. And while he hasn’t had the box office success of Downey or Depp, Franco is fast becoming one of the most versatile and popular actors in Hollywood. He also really loves taking projects that are out of left field so him playing the eventual Wizard of Oz might appeal to him. That is, unless, the deliberate actor finds the film a bit too similar to the one he’s already finished filming that’s also a prequel to another Hollywood classic, Rise of the Apes.

Keanu Reeves Announces More Matrix Sequels.

Tuesday, 1 February 2011

Ok so the first Matrix movie was released and don't get me wrong, along with everyone else in the world I thought it was great. Mind you I did have to see it a couple of times before forming that opinion. The Watchowski brothers then wrote the scripts for Reloaded and Revelations together, the first sequel Reloaded was also a very good movie and you felt that maybe you where getting somewhere with the story line. Then they released the third movie Revelations, which was terrible. In fact it left everyone wondering what was all that about in the previous two movies, if anyone can enlighten me, then hey drop me a line.

Now I hear Keanu Reeves has been over here in England being honoured by the London School Of Performing Arts, and has announced that there may be another addition to the Matrix franchise.

The Watchowski brothers have reportedly written two more scripts for two more follow up movies and have been talking with George Lucas about making into a 3D adventure. Let's face it what ever they end up doing It can not be any worse than the last movie, and we might actually get some answers as to what is going on.
