TV Preview: DEXTER Season 7 Trailer and Gossip, The Truth Is Out

Wednesday, 27 June 2012

The final two seasons of cable TV's biggest show Dexter were announced following the wrap of the disappointing sixth season, since that tremendous season finale audiences have been awaiting a little sneak peek of just what we can expect when Dexter's seventh season starts on Showtime September 30th. Go back and check out my review or just cast your mind back to those final scenes in "This is the Way the World Ends" when Debra walked in just as her serial Killer half brother Dexter Morgan sunk a knife into the chest of Travis (Colin Hanks), there is simply no other way the seventh season could start than with that scene being picked up exactly where it left off. What we do know for definite now is something that has always been suspected, well known but never said. Debra Morgan is in love with her brother and the big question on everyone's lips is will that love force her hand into covering up her brothers murderous ways or will she grass him up. You would have to go with the first one, lets face it if she tells her fellow cops that Dexter is locked up and the last two seasons turn into a court room drama with Dexter finally being revealed as Miami's most prolific serial killer. Take a look at the sneak peek video below and let me know what you think.

I saw one rumour on the Internet a while ago that Debra never actually discovered Dexter at all and that Dexter was just having a dream, I suspect that rumour is not true thanks to that little clip, fair enough it doesn't give away much but that would just spoil the fun wouldn't it? Now of course Debra catching Dexter in the act is not going to be his only problem during the seventh season, remember the new creepy intern at Miami Metro, Louis? yeah, well he had the hand from the Ice Truck Killer investigation in his apartment before sending it off to Dexter, does he know that Dexter Morgan is The Bay Harbour Butcher? I guess we'll have to wait and see huh. Producers on Dexter had said when the announcement of two more seasons was made that season eight would probably be the last, that has now been confirmed by executive producer Sara Colleton told tv.com the following;

"We wanted to end it this year, but the network convinced us that it would be best to do it in two years. In some ways, this is a two-season series-ender. We have worked that out and know where it's going to end. Next year will definitely be the last year of Dexter. Absolutely"

For me it's disappointing that Dexter is coming to an end, it is after all the best show on TV, but on the other hand at least they have a plan on how the story is going to go. I'm currently catching up with Dexter's second season, I will be watching episodes nine and ten tonight, you may have noticed the reviews are only up to episode three "An Inconvenient Lie", don't worry I'll be catching up with that, just be assured that Masuka is cracking me up with all the shemale stuff. I'm looking to get to the season two finale in the next couple of days as I'm currently waiting on the season three Blu-ray dropping through my door.
Dexter season 7 starts on Showtime 30th September 2012 at 9pm and will be followed by the season two premiere of Homeland.

Now to a picture which I found whilst hunting around for the ones above, It was apparently tweeted by Jennifer Carpenter herself. The picture bears no relevance to the seventh season of Dexter but I thought it was pretty funny and just had to include it for Dexter fans enjoyment everywhere.

TV Trailer: THE FOLLOWING Coming to Fox in 2012 Starring Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy

Sunday, 20 May 2012

You may remember last week when we were talking about Keifer Sutherland's Touch getting renewed, tagged onto the end of that article was news that Fox had picked up a new serial killer thriller called The Following which stars James Purefoy and non other than Hollywood A-Lister Kevin Bacon. That alone would be enough to get anyone's interest, it sure got mine and earlier in the week Fox released a four minute trailer for the show which as yet has not been given a date or time slot. The Following was originally scheduled as a mid-season show but from what I've heard Fox are holding off for now meaning that we are likely to see this in September time along with J.J. Abrams new show Revolution.

Now that looks really good doesn't it? And is it any wonder considering who is starring? One thing I'm not sure on is how many seasons it can go on for but I guess we'll get a better gage on that once the series starts.

As you've probably guessed The Following follows the story of Kevin Bacon a retired FBI agent who is brought out of retirement when a serial killer who he put inside escapes from prison. Not only does the killer (James Purefoy) escape, he also goes about a little social networking and gains himself a following of sorts. From the trailer it looks like he is captured pretty quick, but unfortunately for the FBI his ways have rubbed off on his followers and now the FBI must get inside his mind whilst also tracking down his fans.

It does look really good and and you can be sure I will be checking it out and letting you know what I think. How about you? Will you be checking out The Following?

TV Previews: GAME OF THRONES - The Ghost of Herrenhal 2.5, NYC 22 - Thugs and Lovers 1.3, AWAKE - Slack Water 1.10, PERSON OF INTEREST - Many Happy Returns 1.21

Sunday, 29 April 2012

All of the latest trailers for your favourite US TV shows as always here at Movies Music & Television.

Game of Thrones 2.5 – The Ghost of Herrenhal

Oh, ok so I finally know who the blonde lady walking through the desert is, she is air to the Throne, or at least that’s what she says anyway. She will have to join the que, which incidentally is quite long right now. I stopped reviewing Game of Thrones for one reason,
there is just far to much going on for a newcomer like me so I made an informed decision to keep watching but stop reviewing. I will probably do some sort of season review when it wraps, as for “The Ghost of Herrenhal” I really could not tell you what’s going on in this clip.

Awake 1.10 - Slack Water

Just a quick note on Awake this week, I haven't watched "Game Day" yet I plan to do that tonight. For that reason I haven't watched this preview yet so let me know what you think.

NYC 22 1.3 - Thugs and Lovers

I didn’t review the second episode of NYC 22, reason? Well I just didn’t really find it any different from the “Pilot”, which was procedural but good. I really wasn’t excited about anything last time round so decided not to bother. The latest offering of “Thugs and Lovers” looks ok in this thirty second or so clip where the rookies help stop a bank robbery. It looks good but weather my opinion changes from the second episode will depend on weather I review the episode or not.

Person of Interest 1.21 – Many Happy Returns

Following what was one of Person of Interest’s best episodes in “Matsya Nyaya” (review coming tomorrow) I got to thinking on what they could follow it up with, we are on the run to the season finale now and this show really does just get better and better, never failing to disappoint and “Many Happy Returns” doesn’t look like it will change that anytime soon. The machine pumps out yet another SSN for the team to deal with, but this one’s different and Reese feels the need to go rouge in order to show the guy “what a real monster looks like”.

TV Previews: GAME OF THRONES - Garden of Bones, AWAKE - Game Day 1.9, NYC 22 - Firebomb 1.2, PERSON OF INTEREST - Matsya Nyaya 1.20

Sunday, 22 April 2012

As always all the TV previews and trailers for your favourite US TV shows here at Movies Music and Television, enjoy.

First up it's Game of Thrones, a show which I have just got into but am really enjoying. I reviewed the first couple of episodes but following last week I found myself lost off thanks to a few new characters being introduced. In "Garden of Bones" the lady walking through the red wasteland is back so, maybe I'll find out some more there. A battle commences between the Starks and Lannisters and boy King Joffrey chops someone up, love it.

I have the review of Awake's "Nightswimming" coming for you tomorrow, I wasn't that impressed the best part was almost seeing Laura Allen naked but unfortunatley it didn't come to anything. in "Game Day" it would seem that the mystery of the two dreams is going to take centre stage, it looks to involve a Football game so if anything else I shouldn't find myself bored this week.

I really enjoyed the "Pilot" to NYC 22, there was a certain air of freshness about it and it came with a killer soundtrack. It's your standard cop procedural but I really think it's worth your time if you can get into it. Check out the trailer for the second installment of the thirteen part series named "Firebomb" and let me know what you think.

I can't find the promo for Person of Interest on YouTube this week so you will have to cope with me throwing you over to the CBS website to check that out. In "Matsya Nyaya" the machine spits out yet another SSN which sees Reese going undercover as part of an armoured truck crew, a move which gives him painful memories of the last CIA job he was involved with. Take a look over at CBS for the trailer. Let me know what it's like as being in the UK I can't watch it.

TV Previews: GAME OF THRONES - What Is Dead May Never Die 2.3, AWAKE - Nightswimming 1.8, DEXTER Season 2

Sunday, 15 April 2012

As always here at Movies Music & Television here are all the latest previews and trailers for your favourite US TV shows.

Firstly its Game of Thrones, a show which I have become a very big fan of. It's not my usual squeeze but this is very good indeed, I'm not really there yet on who everyone is or what they are all fighting for but I am hoping this week may shed a little more light on the subject. Check out the trailer and let me know what you think, other than that why not take a look at last week's review and fill me in on the blanks.

Onto Awake now, another very good show. This really isn't the best preview week for me there is very little on and I haven't seen the previous episode "Ricky's Tacos" just yet, I will be watching it tonight but in the interest that I give something away that will spoil my viewing I haven't watched this preview yet, take a look for yourself and let me know what you think.

No Touch this week, I don't feel any desire to watch this show, I watched the first two episodes and thought they were ok but in all honesty I was just a little bored, I don't think Keifer Sutherland and his on screen son linking peoples life's together for a happy ending every week is all that enjoyable so for that reason I have stopped previewing and reviewing the show. This gives me even less to review so if you have any suggestions on something I should check out old or new then let me know.

As you know I'm a big fan of Dexter, I'm currently making my way through season 2 so, why not put out the trailer? That way you all know what I'm watching. As well as this I also have a new writing gig coming off which I'll let you know about in due course, I'm just busy deciding how much time to offer the opportunity.

Note: I would have done individual episode trailers for Dexter's second season but they don't have any from back then so you will have to do with the whole of season 2 trailer.

TV Previews: GAME OF THRONES - The Night Lands 2.1, AWAKE - Ricky'sTacos 1.7, TOUCH - Kite Strings 1.4

Sunday, 8 April 2012

All the latest trailer, promos and previews of your favourite US TV shows here at Movies Music and Television as always, enjoy.

I'll start this week with Game of Thrones, if you caught my review of last week's season 2 premiere "The North Remembers" then your already aware that I didn't watch the first season but I was very impressed with the way the show handled itself, and like pretty much everyone else I was really impressed with the performance of Peter Dinklage. I'm still figuring out who everyone is so I can't go into that much plot here but "The Night Lands" looks like a pretty action packed episode.

I started reviewing Awake following episode 5 "Oregon", I have the review of the sixth episode coming for you tomorrow. I really love this show and I think the last episode "That's Not My Penguin" really started to put some questions in our mind about which world is reality and which is a dream. In "Ricky's Tacos" that would seem to continue along with a police conspiracy that was touched upon briefly in an earlier episode.

Touch is a show which has had to take a bit of a back seat lately, it's not that I don't think it's a good show, I just don't rate it as much as everything else that I've been watching. I'm a couple of episodes behind now and do intend to catch up however, I don't think I will be reviewing every episode. Maybe I'll drop a comment or two should something happen that I find interesting or a worthy talking point.

It's a pretty short list this week, as you know Spartacus is now wrapped for it's second season, Person of Interest is a repeat of "Number Crunch" and unfortunately I can't get a preview or promo of Magic City's second episode. So, we'll have to make do with what we've got.

TV Previews: SPARTACUS VENGEANCE - Wrath of the Gods 2.10, TOUCH - Safety in Numbers 1.3, PERSON OF INTEREST - Flesh and Blood 1.19, AWAKE - That's Not My Penguin 1.6, MAGIC CITY - Pilot 1.1

Sunday, 1 April 2012

All the previews and trailers for your favourite US TV shows right here as always on Movies Music & Television.

I can't even begin to tell you just how much I'm going to miss Spartacus following the season finale. Good job I have the Blood and Sand box set to get through. The show has been relentless all along and the finale is going to be one immense battle between Spartacus and his freed slaves against Glaber and his legion of Roman soldiers. Thanks to Wikipedia and various other references we know that Spartacus wins the battle meaning their will be another season and we will probably see Glaber killed off.

I actually put the wrong name out for Touch in last weeks previews, I believe it should have read "1 + 1 = 3", or something like that. Never mind, you may recall I reviewed the "Pilot" episode of Touch and I do think it's a good show I just don't think it will hold my interest, if all we are going to see every week is Keifer Sutherland connecting peoples lives then I think I will get bored quick. I haven't reviewed the second episode and don't imagine that I will be reviewing this one either. The preview does look pretty good, but remember it's only 30 seconds long.

You know I love Person of Interest and as always it looks like the show will deliver big time as usual. "Identity Crisis" was pretty kick ass and "Flesh and Blood" looks better again, last time round Carter was not speaking with Reese and seemed to be considering the option of helping out the FBI however, in the latest episode her son who we haven't seen much of is kidnapped and their is only one man who has the skills to get him back. I really think we might get to learn quite a lot during this episode and who knows Finch may even do some "X" again.

Awake is a show where the sun is usually shining, I don't think there will be any penguins involved. I have to be honest I really do like this show but I haven't got round to watching "Oregon" just yet. Am I going to review it? Well maybe I should, I'm not going to go right back to that second episode but maybe I'll start with Oregon and see how we go from their, I will have that for you tomorrow. This preview looks pretty impressive I must say and the dreams seem to be getting more and more realistic.

I posted the trailer for Magic City the other week so, for that reason I'm not going to put it here again. The show looks pretty impressive and to be granted a second season before your first episode has even aired is quite an achievement these days. If you want to check out the trailer and synopsis for Magic City then click HERE to check them out.

TV Trailer: DEXTER SEASON 6 Starts on FX, 30th March 2012 at 10pm

Tuesday, 27 March 2012

Great news for fans of Dexter in the U.K, the hit U.S TV show will make its season 6 debut on March 30th (this Friday), 10pm on FX. As you know I watch along with the American audience so I’ve already seen this season but for those of you who are fans then Dexter’s sixth season is a must see. Dexter has already been renewed for a 7th and 8th season, with the 7th due to air on American network Showtime September 30th 2012. Every episode of Dexter’s 6th season was reviewed here starting with the premiere episode “Those Kinds of Things”, be sure to come back after you have watched the latest and take a look at what I thought.

This season as always set’s itself up well as its title picture would suggest, right from the off we are introduced to this seasons killers, Travis (Colin Hanks) and Professor Gellar (Edward James Olmos). The pair very quickly become known to the Miami Metro homicide department as the Doomsday Killers whilst Dexter as always leads his own investigation into who his latest play buddies are. One thing which stood out in season 6 for me was the inclusion of one superb guest star, Mos Def, who plays the role of Brother Sam, a reformed criminal who has now turned to religion. The scenes between Michael C. Hall and Mos Def are up there with the best in TV and cannot be missed.

So what can you expect from another season of your favourite serial killer? Well quite a lot, I’ve already told you who Dexter’s new pals are above, it’s worth checking out just for the Brother Sam scenes, trust me. Other than that, there is one brilliant mid-season episode named “Nebraska”, an episode which can not be missed by long time fans of Dexter, for those like me who only started recently it may take a little more sinking in. There is a new Detective in Miami Metro named Mike Anderson (Billy Brown, the new Doakes, possibly!). Expect all the usual twists and turns and expect one mighty finale.

I’m stopping there, I really don’t want to spoil things for you. All I can say is that although season 6 of Dexter has its critics it’s still very enjoyable and I loved it.

TV Previews: SPARTACUS: VENGEANCE - Monsters 2.9, ALCATRAZ - Garret Stillman 1.12 & Tommy Madsen 1.13, TOUCH - Safety in Numbers 1.2, PERSON OF INTEREST - Identity Crisis 1.18, AWAKE - Oregon 1.5

Sunday, 25 March 2012

I don’t really know what to say about Spartacus: Vengeance this week other than I’ve no doubt that as usual it will be brilliant. It would seem that this week there is going to be a lot more battle action particularly at Mount Vesuvius. This is the last episode before next
week’s season finale which again I’m sure will be great and I’ve no doubt that we will be seeing another season of this brilliant show.

As far as Alcatraz goes I can say that I’ve maybe enjoyed about four episodes, but like I said in the “Webb Porter” review last week, I never get that “I can’t wait to see it next week” feeling with this show. Webb Porter bored me crazy but I have to admit that this week’s two hour finale would seem to give us some answers to the questions we all have. Weather it will wrap up everything thinking it won’t get a second season, or weather it will leave some stones unturned for a possible second season we will have to wait and see but I’m honestly not all that intrigued about the Alcatraz finale.

You may remember back in January or February this year Keifer Sutherland's new TV show "Touch" started on Fox. It's back now with it's second episode and again like Spartacus I will watch this show along with the UK, as we are only a few days behind the U.S. It goes out here Tuesday 27th March 2012 at 8pm with this episode named "Safety in Numbers". I was really impressed with the "Pilot" and will be watching again on Tuesday, actually make that Wednesday as I'll be watching Alcatraz on Tuesday, check out the preview below. By the way music in the background is Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Everbody's on the Run, one of my favourite songs.

My favourite show on TV is back this week in the shape of Person of Interest, now that Reese and Finch have been relived of their babysitting duties they can get on with their real job of kicking ass. That kicking ass has recently earned this brilliant show a second
season and I for one can’t wait. This week’s instalment looks to be another good one but I think it will be more procedural cop drama (You know, Reese shooting people in the leg) than actually revealing anymore on our two main characters, on saying that this is only a
thirty second clip so maybe they are keeping those bits for the actual episode.

Awake is a show which I really enjoy, I did mean to get round to reviewing the second and third episode but I just haven’t had the time, I watched last week’s “Kate is Enough” and stand by what I said in the “Pilot” review, that this show even without the Sci-fi twist is a decent enough cop procedural drama. This weeks “Oregon” seems to be taking us more down the Sci-Fi route though, and if this short clip is anything to go by then I think we will all have a few new questions as to just what is going on in Michael Britten’s head in this show.

TV Trailer: MAGIC CITY

Saturday, 24 March 2012

As you know I’m always on the look out for new TV shows to watch, I have ABC’s "Missing" starring Ashley Judd sitting waiting to watch I just haven’t got round to it yet. One show I got my eye on recently is another Starz original, I caught the trailer for Magic City a month back and I think it looks pretty good, if I had to compare it to something on face value I’d say Mad Men but that’s a show I haven’t seen. I think Magic City may be an interesting new little squeeze to fit into my schedule.

Magic City stars Christian Cooke, Dominick Garcia-Lorido, Yul Vazquez, Olga Kurylenko and Kelly Lynch. The show is set in 1950’s Miami and follows the mobsters of it’s day. Check out the trailer and let me know what you think.

Looks good right? Here is what Starz say on the show;

As Frank Sinatra rings in a new year in the grand ballroom of Miami Beach's most luxurious dream palace - the Miramar Hotel - its visionary leader, Ike Evans, must deal with the Mob, his complicated family and a city in the midst of dramatic change as Fidel Castro takes control of Cuba, just 200 miles offshore. By day the hotel at the center of 'Magic City' is all diving clown acts and cha-cha lessons by the pool, but at night Miami Beach reveals a darker truth. Dopers, dealers, strippers, gangsters and those who arrest them drift together to hear the top nightclub acts perform. Just beneath the surface, racial tensions stir. Ike must deal with all of this, even while global intrigue is brewing right under his roof.
